whee! i finally have the mood to blog again! actually i thought that this week is a slacking week whereby i dont have to work and just stay at home and nua... BUT, on tuesday, my assistant manager called me and told me to work from tue-sat. i was so shocked, because all my plans were ruined. eg: playing badminton with denise, going to NUH on thursday, cell on fri and sat service. so horrible right? but it was partly my fault too, because i didnt tell the manager clearly. so anyway, im going service on sunday and then pay janice a visit.
today, i want to share from the daily devotion on 17 feb & 18feb. it is about being impatient with God's timing and being disappointed with God, whereby Lazarus was sick and Jesus didn't go to him immdiately, but purposely waited for 2 days before going to find lazarus. by the time Jesus went back to Bethany, Lazarus was dead. Martha went to meet Jesus, but Mary was upset and stayed at home.
(John 11:1-27)As i read that passage, i feel that i'm really impatient with God's timing, and i feel that God is teaching me to be patient. that day's application was to write down all the not-yet answered prayers. i wrote out quite a number of them, and was just wondering how long i have to wait. and definitely, there are times whereby i'm like mary, feeling disappointed with God, like "God, why does it happen this way?", "why didn't you do anything about it?" blablabla...
after reading this passage, i realised that we can never fully understand God's plan and that he'll never make any mistakes. He has things all planned. Jesus had a greater plan for Lazarus, which was to raise him from the dead and not just heal him from his sickness. yeah man, i feel so encouraged after reading that day's daily devotion because i feel convicted that God is truly in control of everything, even though sometimes things doesn't seem to be going according to our plans.
Jesus has a greater purpose behind His decisions that are not always clear to us at first. Be patient and trust that God will make things clear in His timing.
