hello everybody! i finally have the mood to update my blog... the 3rd week of school is over.. and guess what? next week is elearning week and so i dont have to go to school for lessons except on monday. YAY! ain't it great?
theres more and more assignments nowadays and i was rather busy for the past few days. but thinking of next week makes me feel so much happier. AHAHHA. in any case, on thursday, i went to PAP Community Foundation at PUNGGOL! although its so far, its my first time stepping into a early childhood setting as a teenager and not a kiddo. the kiddos there are rather cute. they were having chinese lesson and the teacher told them to throw the banana skin into the bin.. LOL! And then they started singing the 苹果歌! totally adorable! anyway, we just walk around the classrooms and observe some of the students there. the following thursday, we would go there again and have lessons together with the kiddos. so fun right? HAHA
anyway, today i went to NUH... once again, i was struggling to get myself out of bed. every saturday morning, there is a battle in my mind... i dunno why i always feel so reluctant to go to NUH. but anyway, today i met Mdm tan who was diagnosed with Leukemia in Jan this year. her condition is improving very quickly and shes going for her last round of chemo and then she'll be able to go home. she told me that she went for several bone marrow scans and it shows no sign of cancer cells. :)
Mdm tan was sharing with me that she know of a patient who recovered from AML (acute myeloid leukemia). that patient has 2 children, one is 2+, the other is 18months old and she was stuggling with the illness and at the same time, worried for her children and husband. Mdm tan also told me that she is always smiling. so for Mdm tan, her encouragement is "she is in a worse situation than me and yet she can overcome her illness, why cant i?" i really admire people who have cancer and have such great will power to fight it.
after that, Mdm tan was sharing with me that she learnt to treasure life more. she said "every morning i wake up, as long as i open my eyes and see the ceiling, i know that at least i have another day, and i am so glad. " i felt so embarrassed because very often, when my alarm clock rings in the morning, i feel so upset. yet to another person, it is a joy to be able to wake up.
